Happy New Year whānau! I hope you all had a fabulous festive season with your whānau and have enjoyed a relaxing summer holiday.
Teachers have been putting in extra effort into making their classrooms inviting and warm spaces for tamariki. I know they are looking forward to welcoming you and your child/ren on Monday 3 February.
2025 is an exciting year for Rototuna Primary School as we introduce our stunning school uniform. I have loved seeing our students excited to be wearing the new school uniform! I am very much looking forward to 2025 and know that it is going to another great year where we work together to strengthen our culture and embed our vision.
Enjoy the weekend whānau, and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 3 February, the first day of the 2025 school year.

Sunhats
Our sunhat policy continues for Term 1 of 2025. We require students to wear hats whenever they are outside and involved in school activities. Students without a hat must remain in an allocated shaded area at break times.
Our sunhat policy is a little bit different this year. Hats must be the Rototuna Primary School uniform bucket hat or cap. Caps must be worn so that they provide protection to the eyes. Students who wear cultural head dress (eg hijab and patka) are exempt from wearing a sunhat.
Strategic Plan 2024-2025
Strategic Plan 2024
The Board of Trustees has developed a strategic plan for the next two years. The development of the our new strategic direction has been in response to many varied forms of feedback received over the past year from our whānau, staff and students. This plan outlines what is important for us to focus on as a school in 2024 and 2025.
We have an active school Facebook page where a dedicated senior leadership member keeps our parent community up-to-date with all messages and our school's day-to-day activities. If you are a facebook user make sure you follow our school's facebook page so you can be 'kept in the loop' with school life on a daily basis.

Concerns and Complaints Procedure
Where appropriate, Rototuna Primary School handles concerns and complaints informally in the first instance. If you would like to raise a concern with us, please follow the steps outlined in the concerns and complaints policy attached below.
Knowing your child is very important to us. This is an opportunity for you to meet with your child's teacher and tell them about your whānau, let them know your child’s strengths, their interests and hobbies, their friends, and what your aspirations are for your child as well as anything else you think the teacher should know about your child.
